Gary Kubiak Hired As Denver Broncos Head Coach

Gary Kubiak has made his way back to the Denver Broncos, and will serve as the team’s new head coach. He will be on the coaching staff of his third team in three years following the Texans and Ravens.

He arrives in Denver following the departure of John Fox, who was recently hired as the head coach of the Chicago Bears. Kubiak is likely to have more success with the Broncos than he did with the Texans, which resulted in his firing in 2013.

The Denver Broncos made it to the playoffs with the No.2 this year, but lost to the Colts, signifying what may be the end of the Manning legacy. However, it was also revealed that he had been playing through an injury, and has not shown signs of retirement yet.

Gary Kubiak and the Denver Broncos have agreed to a four-year deal, and the 53 year old coach is expected to make his first appearance in Denver for a press conference on Tuesday.

Speaking about bringing coach Kubiak to Denver, general manager John Elway said “Gary Kubiak has established a track record of leadership, success and high character during his 30 seasons in the NFL. While there is no question he is a Bronco, what Gary has learned from his other opportunities around the league — especially in his eight seasons as a head coach — will tremendously benefit our organization.”

Prior to being the head coach of the Denver Broncos, Gary Kubiak played quarterback for the team from 1983 until 1991. He was also with the team as an offensive coordinator from 1995 until 2005.

He will be brought on to a team with proven success in recent years, and although the Broncos have not won a Super Bowl since signing Peyton Manning, their records have been 13-3, 13-3, and 12-4.

Gary Kubiak will join the Denver Broncos as a franchise that he knows well, and will look to continue their success in the regular season. Will he be able to lead them to a Super Bowl?
