Johnny Depp: Rehabbing From Alcohol At Home?

Johnny Depp is rehabbing from alleged alcohol abuse during his quiet time at home, according to reports. Depp doesn’t want to attend public rehab sessions, sources have revealed, and prefers the privacy that his own home provides.

As we have all seen, Depp was obviously drunk when he delivered his speech at the Hollywood Film Awards in November 2014. The National Enquirer reports that Depp’s absence from the public eye is merely due to his want for privacy as he deals with his issues with alcohol. Following his slurred speech, his family members along with fiance Amber Heard have reportedly pushed him to get help.

A source revealed, “People were discreetly told that Johnny is relying on professionals to help him get through his fight in private.”

Another insider told the publication, “The decision was motivated at least in part by concerns over Johnny’s privacy. Having caregivers come to him eliminates the risk of fellow patients or clinic staff spilling the beans about his treatment.”

Depp’s rehab treatment isn’t the first time he’s been the subject of rehab rumors. Depp became sober following the filming of his 2011 movie Pirates Of The Carribbean: On Stranger Tides. A source close to the situation said, “During filming, Johnny would drink a whole bottle of Spanish red wine almost every day. After realizing he clearly had an issue, Johnny would often be seen traveling with a companion to help encourage his sobriety.”

A source previously told the magazine, “Amber broke his sobriety a bit, she isn’t necessarily a bad influence. She’s not a party girl, whatsoever. But Johnny being Johnny, he couldn’t have just one.”

Another insider said, “Johnny’s problem has always been his issue with moderation. Once he starts drinking, it’s as if he can’t stop. Things got bad one time and Amber locked herself in the bathroom for hours waiting for him to sober up. Amber and family members asked him to get help. She’s deadly serious about walking away unless he cleans up his act.”

Johnny Depp’s rehab plans in the New Year are tackling the problem at its root cause and great for being a healthier person for his children’s sakes. Kudos to him for taking on such a difficult task.
