A story of a kiss cam fight is circulating around social media. It’s no secret that when you attend a ball game with a romantic significant other that you should be prepared to pucker up when the lens turns its focus on you. However, in place of an affectionate kiss, the kiss cam for a Chicago Bulls and Boston Celtics game captures a couple getting at each other’s throats. Obviously, you can’t hear what they’re saying, but it’s obvious from their body language that they were in the middle of a spat.
When the two are captured on the big screen, the boyfriend can be seen talking on his mobile phone. The girlfriend hits him on the shoulder in what appeared to be an attempt to alert him that they’re on camera and are expected to kiss. The two appear to shout at each other for a split second before the boyfriend returns to his phone conversation.
It is then that the Bulls mascot appears before the couple and hits the guy over the head and proceeds to whisk his girlfriend away. The crowd cheers as the boyfriend stares in disbelief and appears to turn his attention to a nearby security officer.
Even with a single viewing of the video, the kiss cam fight appeared to be staged. Nevertheless, it was an entertaining moment for the fans in attendance as well as for viewers at home.
On the subject of the kiss cam, there are other hilarious moments involving the camera that puts couples on the spot. There was an incident in early 2014 where the camera focused on a man and woman sitting together. However, instead of kissing, the guy pulled out a piece of paper that read “my sister” with an arrow pointing toward the direction of his sibling.
The kiss cam fight is just another instance of people straying from the norm and doing something different other than kissing. It sure does get a heck of a lot more attention than doing what you’re expected to do.
