New ‘Fifty Shades Of Grey’ Trailer Drops

With just a little over a month to go until Fifty Shades of Grey hits theaters, Universal Pictures has released a new trailer.

The trailer (which, in this case, can very appropriately be called a “teaser”) is a one-minute spot that shows awaiting audiences some parts of the story that were not seen in previous trailers.

For example, the preview features a dialog between Anastasia Steele (played by Dakota Johnson) and her roommate Kate Kavanagh (Eloise Mumford).

“You have to admit, he’s ridiculously hot,” Kavanagh says to Steele.

“If… you… are attracted to that sort of human,” Steele replies.

“The hot type of human?” Kavanagh asks, incredulously.

The trailer also airs an audio portion of a dialog between Christian Grey and Steele.

“Mr. Grey, I just have a couple of questions,” Steele says. “To what do you owe your success?”

“There’s some people who say that I don’t have a heart,” Grey replies.

“Why do they say that?” she asks.

“Because they know me well,” he replies. He’s shown jogging with a hoodie covering his entire head as that audio is played.

“Why do I get the feeling that that is not true?” Steele asks.

And with that, the seeds of a raunchy romance are planted.

Grey can also be heard saying: “I had a rough start in life. I don’t do romance.”

It’s safe to say that most women who have read the E. L. James book, on which the movie is based, would disagree with that assessment.

The trailer is suitable for work. That is, people who watch it won’t see much of the Red Room antics. What is shown is remarkably tame, especially considering the underlying exploits.

The trailer also features a run-in between Grey’s mother (Marcia Gay Harden) and Steele the morning after her first — ahem — experience with Grey.

The movie will be in theaters on February 13, just in time for Valentine’s Day.
