Republican Party Wants To Expel Dave Agema For ‘Abhorrent Views’ On Race And Homosexuality

The Republican Party wants to expel Dave Agema from the Republican National Committee’s winter meeting. Virginia Chairman Pat Mullins began circulating a letter on Tuesday urging fellow Republicans to vote Agema out for his “abhorrent views” on race and homosexuality.

Agema stirred the controversy by reposting an essay from a white supremacist magazine, American Renaissance, on New Year’s Eve. He called it “enlightening for anyone who is concerned about crime in America.”

The essay’s author said, “However, my experience has also taught me that blacks are different by almost any measure to all other people. They cannot reason as well. They cannot communicate as well. They cannot control their impulses as well. They are a threat to all who cross their paths, black and non-black alike.”

The post enraged multiple RNC members, and now many in the Republican Party want to expel Dave Agema from the national meeting. Agema has refused to resign.

Besides reposting that particular essay, Agema has made offensive comments about homosexuality in the past. He has compared being gay to the disease alcoholism and said that gay people want free health care because they’re dying from AIDS.

Specifically, two years ago he posted an article on Facebook that support Russian anti-homosexuality laws and called gays “filthy.” The article also questioned whether Muslim-Americans have ever contributed to America.

Agema deleted his post, but wrote a new one defending his repost of the essay. He said he agreed with the commentary of Col West and “not the content of the article itself.” West described the piece as disturbing and racist, but noted some of the author’s observations didn’t shock him. He called for having a real discussion on race issues, “not one of victimhood and expansion of the welfare nanny state.”

Agema wrote, “It’s sad that politically correctness has so taken over our society and is determined by those who desire to move our culture according to their agenda. Political correctness is dangerous and prevents freedom of speech.”

The Republican Party has made attempts to expel Dave Agema for years, but Mullins’ letter and its response is the most organized effort yet. Mullins called Agema a disgrace to the party and asserted that he had no place there.
