Ray Fisher’s Cyborg Will Follow Justice League With Appearance In The Flash

Ray Fisher’s Cyborg will be stopping by to help Ezra Miller’s The Flash in his solo film. The part-human, part-machine superhero will appear alongside Ezra Miller’s scarlet speedster in The Flash movie, according to EW.

As of right now it is unknown how heavily Cyborg will feature in the DC Comics-inspired film’s plot, but it appears Warner Bros. is giving Cyborg a fair amount of screen time to lay the groundwork for a standalone movie slated for April 3, 2020.

Before the release of Batman v Superman, producer Deborah Snyder hinted at the possibility of seeing Cyborg (Ray Fisher) teaming-up with the Scarlet Speedster in Rick Famuyiwa’s The Flash. Snyder also revealed that as the two youngest members of the Justice League, the heroes would develop a stronger relationship when they meet in 2017. However, there was never any solid confirmation on this until now.

Cyborg, whose real name is Victor Stone, will feature in next year’s Justice League and appeared in this spring’s Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, during which his origin story was shown. Stone was a promising young football player who lost his limbs and nearly lost his life in a science experiment gone wrong. In the film, his scientist father uses a piece of alien tech called a Mother Box to save his life — and imbue him with some superhuman abilities.

Cyborg made his first appearance in 1980’s “DC Comics Presents” #26. In the “New 52” continuity, he’s a high school athlete who, after getting caught in a S.T.A.R. Labs explosion, is given powerful bionic abilities that lead to him becoming a founding member of the Justice League.

Miller’s Flash can currently be seen in theaters, as he has a brief scene in Suicide Squad. Both his and Miller’s characters were first introduced in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice. Justice League will be the first time each gets a full, fleshed-out story however.

The Flash, which is directed by Rick Famuyiwa, also stars Kiersey Clemons and is due in theaters on March 16, 2018.
