Justin Bieber is “movin’ on” after facing some serious drama on Instagram. He deactivated his account overnight after facing some harsh criticism from fans over his rumored new girlfriend Sofia Richie. He even received a comment on Instagram from ex-girlfriend Selena Gomez, for which she later addressed on Snapchat.
According to Cosmopolitan, Bieber first threatened to leave Instagram after his fans began attacking Richie. He captioned a photo, “I’m gonna make my Instagram private if you guys don’t stop the hate this is getting out of hand. If you guys are really fans you wouldn’t be so mean to people that I like.”
Two of Bieber’s exes, Gomez and Hailey Baldwin, even weighed in on his post. Gomez wrote:
“If you can’t handle the hate, then stop posting pictures of your girlfriend lol – It should be special between you two only. If you can’t handle the hate, then stop posting pictures of your girlfriend lol – It should be special between you two only.”
Baldwin posted on Instagram about misplacing blame and owning up to the truth. She later deleted the post and tweeted, “The only thing I ‘weigh in on’ is everyday life in general. Don’t rope me into things I’m not a part of and please respect my privacy.”
According to Yahoo, Bieber responded, “It’s funny to see people that used me for attention and still try to point the finger this way. Sad. All love.”
Well, it turns out, Bieber wasn’t joking about deleting his Instagram. The singer deactivated his account early this morning, which set off a social media frenzy, with many tweeting #JustinDeactivatedParty.
Shortly after Bieber deactivated his account, Gomez wrote on Snapchat, “What I said was selfish and pointless.” PEOPLE magazine wrote that her original comment may have “stemmed from residual feelings” that she still has for Bieber.
