Chat On Facebook In Bollywood Style With Sholay Stickers

Would you be interested in using free Sholay Facebook Stickers while chatting with friends on the social network? The classic Bollywood movie which was released in 3D format on the 3rd of January, has been going all out to promote it to the youth. While the youth of today may not connect to the age old block buster, they do connect to Facebook. In a bid to get them talking about the movie, Hungama Digital Media Entertainment and Sholay Media Entertainment have launched a set of free Sholay Stickers on Facebook.

The duo had also recently released an online and mobile game called ‘Sholay: Bullets of Justice’, to engage the digitally savvy young generation.

Reported by NBW, the Sholay Stickers or rich emoticons are available on both web and on its mobile messaging app Messenger. To use the pack, one needs to download it from the Sticker Store by clicking on the sticker icon on the chat window. Once downloaded one can see popular characters from the film like Jai, Veeru, Thakur, Gabbar, Basanti among others.

Last year we saw Chumbak, the makers of quirky Indian souvenirs doing the same by releasing a set of customized stickers – Chumbak‘s Expressions which are free and you can use it to make your conversations more interesting with your friends. During the promotions of Bollywood movie Krrish 3, the superhero science fiction film series became the first Indian film to launch free Facebook Stickers that were inspired by the characters in the movie.

Looks like this is turning out to be a trend for Bollywood movies to promote its characters on the most popular social network in the country. With more than 82M monthly users from the country accessing the network, out of which more than 62M access via mobile the social network provides an alternate avenue to promote the classic movie among the youth. As for Facebook, adding localized stickers will only give more traction to its Messenger that is trying to strengthen its foothold in the growing mobile messaging app market in the country.
