The Legendary Macho Man will be inducted into WWE’s Hall of Fame, and the announcement is expected to be made on the Jan 12th episode of Monday Night Raw.
Savage will be inducted post-mortem. The man iconically known as Macho Man who used the high school graduation music as his entrance theme passed away on May 2011 after suffering a heart attack while driving. An autopsy revealed that he had an enlarged heart, and heart failure – not the injuries sustained from the crash – was the cause of death.
His professional wrestling career spanned from 1985 to 1994. He achieved mainstream popularity during the mid and late-80s and had feuding storylines with Hulk Hogan. He was also known for his high-profile marriage to WWE valet Miss Elizabeth, whom Savage proposed to inside the ring during 1991’s SummerSlam.
The actual induction ceremony will be held at this year’s WrestleMania on March 28 at San Jose. It is uncertain at this point who will be receiving his honors in his stead.

Given Savage’s popularity and legacy, some were surprised that he hasn’t been inducted sooner. Most people, though, attribute this to his strained relationship with WWE owner Vince McMahon.
Macho Man’s WWE Hall of Fame induction has been mentioned recently, though, by none other than McMahon himself during a segment on Stone Cold Steve Austin’s Podcast.
During his expansive career, Savage amassed quite an impressive resume; some of his accomplishments include:
• Two-time WWE Championship
• WWE Intercontinental Championship
• WWE King of the Ring
• WCW World Heavyweight Championship
Macho Man’s induction into the WWE Hall of Fame will mark one of many superstars who received the honors posthumously. Other notable superstars who received the recognition after death include: The Junkyard Dog, Eddie Guerrero, Sensational Sherrie, Curt Henning AKA Mr. Perfect, and Yokozuna just to list a few.
