Mama June Shannon and Anna Cardwell have had quite the rocky mother-daughter relationship, but it’s a New Year – will they be able to put Shannon’s shady past with her child molester ex-boyfriend Mark McDaniel behind them?

Will her daughter Anna Cardwell be able to leave their family drama behind in 2014 and start anew?

Mama June Shannon and Anna Cardwell are trying hard to put their past issues behind them, but Cardwell says that not everything is forgiven. In 2014, Shannon hooked back up with the man who molested Cardwell when she was a young girl. McDaniel was arrested and imprisoned for the span of ten years before his release. Following his release, Shannon allegedly used Cardwell’s money in order to secure McDaniel a place to live and purchase him a vehicle.

Following an investigation from the Department of Children and Family Services, Shannon reconciled with Mike “Sugar Bear” Thompson in order to keep from getting her minor children removed from her home.

Now it appears that Mama June Shannon and Anna Cardwell want to start things off on the right foot. We’re told that the mother/daughter duo met up last week and have been regularly texting and speaking on the phone. Naturally, Cardwell’s issues with Shannon stem from her connection to Mark McDaniel because he molested her when she was eight-years-old.

Shannon apologized to Cardwell over the McDaniel drama and insists that he is completely out of the picture. Despite that, Cardwell is completely hesitant over the situation and says that her forgiveness will only last until she is betrayed again by her mother.

Shannon and Cardwell are beginning things anew – let’s hope they can keep it that way.
