A study linked psychopathic behavior to men who post multiple selfies on their social media. The study was conducted at Ohio State University and consisted of 800 male participants between the ages of 18 and 40. The result revealed that men who post multiple selfies were more apt to psychological issues and psychopathic tendencies.
Keep in mind, however, that if you’re a guy and happen to love taking selfies, you’re not destined to become an axe murderer or an American Psycho a la Christian Bale. In fact, research suggests that a little psychopathic behavior can actually be a good thing. One study actually showed that men who regularly posted selfies and are constantly active on social media were viewed as more attractive to the opposite sex.
Furthermore, those who went a step further and actually took the time to edit their selfies also scored above average on the narcissism and self-objectification scale, which meant they thought very highly of their own appearance and intelligence.
Is think I have a problem. Lol

The results of the study were published in the journal of Personality and Individual Differences. The findings revealed that posting multiple selfies had a strong correlation with both psychopathy and narcissism. However, editing the photos only correlated with narcissism. It’s also important to note that men who took many selfies and scored high on the psychopathy scale placed in the above-average zone, but still within the normal limits.
There is currently a similar study being done on women, and results so far yield a similar conclusion.
An earlier study also found that woman generally take more selfies than men; no surprise there. However, women over the age of 40 take less selfies than men of the same age.
Regardless, if you’re a man who enjoys taking selfies, don’t think you’re a psychopath in the making. It simply means that you have a slightly higher opinion of yourself. That can be translated into confidence as long as it’s not taken to the extreme.
