Netflix announced the extension Monday morning, as did Uzo Adubo, who plays Suzanne “Crazy Eyes” Warren, on Good Morning America. “Season four is now the new news,” she said, before premiering a new clip featuring her character, Poussey (Samira Wiley), Taystee (Danielle Brooks), and Black Cindy (Adrienne C. Moore) all debating the fate of Vee (Lorraine Toussaint).
The Season 2 finale of the show left fans with a major cliffhanger: is Vee alive or dead? The conniving inmate was hit by a speeding van in the final moments of the episode, leaving many to think she’s gone for good. Season 3 of “Orange Is the New Black” will also feature the return of Piper’s (Taylor Schilling) former lover Alex (Laura Prepon) and new inmate Stella (Ruby Rose) joining the gang.
Orange is the New Black has picked up more than 20 awards in its first two seasons, including three Emmy Awards, two SAG Awards, two AFI honors, three Critics’ Choice Television Awards, one NAACP Image Award, one PGA Award, two GLAAD Media Awards, and is a recipient of a Peabody Award and a Television Critics’ Association Award.
Below is the official trailer for the next season of Orange is the New Black.
