What was meant to be one of Ellen DeGeneres’s many classic Photoshop meme jokes quickly went amiss on social media. The comedian and television host is facing backlash as some are claiming that the Photoshopped image of her riding the back of Olympian Usain Bolt is racist. The photo that was used was the now famous photo of Bolt speeding past his opponents in the 100m race.

The photo was posted to each of DeGeneres’s main social media accounts with the caption, “This is how I’m running errands from now on. #Rio2016” Many found the photo to be offensive, calling her and whoever approved the photo out.

DeGeneres responded to the backlash later, saying:

The reactions to the photo were very similar across different social media channels. Many found it offensive; the Instagram photo received more than 10,000 comments, while others stood up for her and said the photo was funny.
