Halle Berry has joined social media and her fans are rejoicing after the actress became the latest celebrity to join Instagram. Berry joined social media platforms Instagram and Twitter today, stating that she is “looking forward to sharing our world through images that reflect [her] emotions and perceptions.” She posted a topless photo of herself, from behind, in a field of bamboo trees on Instagram.

Accompanying Berry’s photo is the following statement:

“Hi everyone. Welcome! Today is a very exciting day for me… I’m looking forward to sharing our world through images that reflect my emotions and perceptions. I am in awe of photography and its ability to capture and reflect this extraordinary world that we live in. I’m excited to share with you my love of nature, the arts, fashion and much more in the hopes that the images will inspire, promote conversation and bring you joy.”

The 49-year-old got over 100,000 followers on Instagram and over 23,000 followers on Twitter within hours of joining them, reports aceshowbiz.com.

Berry won an Academy Award for Best Actress in 2002 for her performance in the romantic drama Monster’s Ball (2001), which made her the only woman of color to win a Best Actress Academy Award to date, as of 2016.

In addition to her Academy Award win, Berry garnered high-profile roles in the 2000s such as Storm in the X-Men film series (beginning in 2000), the action crime thriller Swordfish (2001), and the spy film Die Another Day (2002), where she played Bond Girl Jinx. She then appeared in the X-Men sequels, X2: X-Men United (2003) and X-Men: The Last Stand (2006). In the 2010s, she appeared in movies such as the science fiction film Cloud Atlas (2012), the crime thriller The Call (2013) and X-Men: Days of Future Past (2014).

Berry was recently seen in Extant where after spending a year living in space, conducting experiments intended for a lone astronaut, Molly Watts (Academy Award-winner Halle Berry) returns to Earth and begins to reconnect with her husband, John (critically acclaimed actor Goran Visnjic), who is a gifted scientist, and her unique son, Ethan. Molly finds that her experiences in space — and in her personal life back at home — lead to events that will, in time, change the course of human history. The thrilling drama’s team of executive producers includes Steven Spielberg.

Berry is in talks to join Kingsman 2, the Matthew Vaughn-directed sequel to the 2015 hit that launched Taron Egerton and grossed over $415 million globally for Fox. Berry is in talks to play the head of the CIA, and the discussion is for a two-picture deal.

Matthew Vaughn is returning to direct from a script he co-wrote with Jane Goldman with Taron Egerton again starring. The 2014 original, “Kingsman: The Secret Service,” was based on the comic book “The Secret Service,” created by Dave Gibbons and Mark Millar, and follows the training of a potential secret agent to take on a global threat from Samuel L. Jackson’s Richmond Valentine.
