Vine is being put to use in many interesting ways ever since the mobile app was acquired by Twitter in the beginning of this year. Enabling one to easily capture short looping videos of 6 seconds or less, Vine videos can then be shared on Twitter to spread 6-second video stories to one’s followers.
Yesterday, Kotak Mahindra Bank, one of India’s leading banking and financial services groups, created a Vine video to celebrate the milestone of 50K followers on Twitter. The feat is being shared via a promoted tweet ever since the achievement.
Woohoo! We just crossed 50K followers. A #Celebrating50K #Vine dedicated for you. Thanks for your support! https://t.co/eP5L88xRVK [VIDEO]

The Vine video created using the stop-motion method is interesting, but does not have a musical background score to go with the celebrations. I’m not a pro on Vine, but I can see it’s really difficult to make a stop-motion short Vine video with a continuous music track too. Nevertheless, the bank did something cool as a token of appreciation with the fans who engaged with these videos. A personalized animated card was shared with each of them, further adding to the celebrations!
Additionally, this was accompanied by a short 18-second YouTube video thanking fans on the achievement.
Vine videos have been employed by many Indian brands now like Revlon for the promotions of its Color Stay Ultimate Suede lipstick, MTV India for its show ‘Pick me up’ where Vine was used to create the episodes, among brands in other sectors. While Kotak isn’t the first Indian brand to develop such a piece of content, it is a first in the banking and financial sector.
Vine is getting popular by the day, and using a Vine video to celebrate Twitter moments might become the norm. Being quick and shareable, Vines provide an easy way to push brand messages on the micro-social network.
