When it comes to LinkedIn these days it’s important to have an actual profile set up, this doesn’t mean having just your name there and having the generic profile picture.
As a business professional you need to have you face out there, your brilliant achievements presented to everyone and you need to ensure this is all being done correctly via the social network.
It doesn’t work
A lot of people will claim that LinkedIn just doesn’t deliver on the promises that have been made, the same can actually be sad about other social networks. Before you jump ship, first understand what and who uses LinkedIn:
- Business professionals
- B2B facing individuals
LinkedIn is where business and lead generation is at if you happen to fall into either of the categories above. Facebook, Twitter and Pinterest are all consumer side and focused marketing platforms, if you happen to sell sweets or toys then focus on those platforms, but if you happen to sell sweets and toys on a wholesale level focus on LinkedIn.
Master it
Once you get to grips with the functions of LinkedIn you’ll understand why there is so much importance on the tips in the infographic; they help to align your profile with the goal of lead generation or recruitment. Get the basics down and everything else seems to become incredibly easy to do, you’ll then find it a smooth sailing process of generating business (or other goals).
