LeBron James’ knee injury and lower back problems are expected to sideline the NBA star for the next two weeks.

James has missed the Cavs’ last two games before of soreness in his knee, and he underwent multiple examinations, including an MRI on Wedesday to determine the extent of his injury. The MRI results on Thursday revealed the strain placed on James’ knee and back.

LeBron James’ knee injury and back problems will be treated with several options, including anti-inflammatories. LeBron has never missed more than five straight games during his time in the NBA. If he is sidelined for two more full weeks, LeBron will miss 10 or more games.

LeBron aggravated his knee on Christmas day in Miami while leaping over a row of courtside seats. Following that aggravation, LeBron admitted that he had been nursing a sore knee all season. “I’ve been playing with it, and it goes away and comes back,” he said. “So, the one in Miami kind of reaggravated it when I came out of the game in the third quarter.”

The Cavs have managed only 91.7 points per game over LeBron James’ absense, some of their worst performances of the season.

“I’m here to build something great in the present and in the future, and that’s the reason I’m back,” James said. “I got no other reason to have to continue to talk about things that’s so outlandish. I’m here. This is where I’ll be, and this is where I’m comfortable at.”

On Wednesday the Cleveland Cavaliers were without Kevin Love (back spasms) and Shawn Marion (sore left ankle).

The Cleveland Cavaliers are now 18-14, having lost four of their previous five games.

With a struggling ball club, even with LeBron James in the lineup, head coach David Blatt’s job security has been questioned by many NBA analysts.

In the meantime, LeBron James says the Cavs will continue to play out their plan in the hopes of reaching the NBC playoffs:

“Just stay even keel and knowing that there’s always sunshine on the other side of the mountain, man,” James said. “I don’t get too high or too low, especially in the NBA season. It’s too long, it’s too many emotions, it’s too many things, it’s too many storylines that if you let yourself get involved in it too much that it can bother you mentally, and I’ve been able to just stay away from it.”

Do you think the Cleveland Cavaliers can win while Lebron James’ knee injury keeps him out of the lineup?
