Marvel Studios has released the official poster for “Avengers: Age of Ultron,” one that’s reminiscent of the first film’s official one-sheet with the heroes all together. In this version though, there isn’t city destruction surrounding them but rather Ultron’s army of drones.
Also of note is the posters credits listing which confirms that Anthony Mackie (Falcon), Idris Elba (Heimdall), Hayley Attwell (Peggy Carter), Cobie Smulders (Maria Hill) and Stellan Skarsgard (Erik Selvig) are all a part of the cast. “Avengers: Age of Ultron” hits cinemas on May 1st. The poster designers attempted their best to fit in ten major characters plus a bunch of Ultrons flying around in the background.
In related news, NBC has announced that the god of thunder himself, Chris Hemsworth, will host the March 7 episode of “Saturday Night Live.” This will be his first time hosting the series. Hemsworth can next be seen in “Age of Ultron” on May 1 with Thor: Ragnarok set to debut in theaters on November 3, 2017, a four month shift from its initial release following the new Marvel/Sony Spider-Man deal.
In the May 1, 2015 release, when Tony Stark tries to jumpstart a dormant peacekeeping program, things go awry and Earth’s Mightiest Heroes, including Iron Man, Captain America, Thor, The Incredible Hulk, Black Widow and Hawkeye, are put to the ultimate test as the fate of the planet hangs in the balance. As the villainous Ultron emerges, it is up to The Avengers to stop him from enacting his terrible plans, and soon uneasy alliances and unexpected action pave the way for an epic and unique global adventure.
Avengers: Age of Ultron also stars Robert Downey Jr., Mark Ruffalo, Chris Evans, Scarlett Johansson, Jeremy Renner, Samuel L. Jackson, Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Elizabeth Olsen, James Spader, Cobie Smulders, Thomas Kretschmann, Paul Bettany and Stellan Skarsgard.
What do you think of the poster? Excited for the new Avengers movie?
