SpongeBob SquarePants Dives Into Toddler’s Esophagus

A 16-month old boy was rushed to King Abdulaziz University Hospital in Jeddah after he swallowed his sister’s Spongebob Squarepants pendant.

X-rays revealed that Spongebob was indeed lodged in the toddler’s esophagus. At first it was presumed to be a pin or hair accessory until the front view was scrutinized.

Radiology resident Dr. Ghofran Ageely was surprised to discover exactly what the object was.

“Then I opened the frontal view and was shocked. SpongeBob,’ I screamed!!! I was amazed by the visible details. You can see his freckles, shoes and fingers…AMAZING,” Ageely said.

Spongebob was removed from the boy’s esophagus and he was able to make a full recovery.
