Store 50,000 Songs in Google Music Now

Do you use Google Play Music? If not, you should start using it. You get access to 30 million songs on any device if you subscribe to Google Play Music. Even if you don’t get the monthly “All access” subscription, it still offers a place to store the entire music collection you already own, for free.

Before today, the service offered to store 20,000 songs for free, but that limit has been raised to 50,000 songs. With that kind of limit, most of us will need a lifetime to fill the entire library. I currently have around 6,000 songs that I stream using phone, tablet, computer or Chromecast.

To start with Google Music and store your music, here is what you do:

1. Sign-in to Google Play Music using your Gmail account.


2. Claim your free storage.


3. Add your music collection by downloading the Chrome app. You can choose to simply upload your entire iTunes library or select other music folders. All you need to do is to point the app to the music library(ies) on your computer to start uploading to Google Music.


4. Access your music everywhere.

Stream or download music to your Android, iPhone or iPad for easy offline listening. And best of all, when you upgrade to a new computer or phone, your music comes along, too. So you don’t have to worry about losing your favorite music.

Once you start listening to music using the Google Music app and like/dislike some of the music, it’s inbuilt artificial intelligence will start suggesting you “Smart Playlists” you can listen to – something like Spotify and Songza.

Google Music is one of the 10 Pandora / Spotify alternatives.
