WhatsApp has been immensely popular as a messaging app owing to the trendiness and the ease of usage. For the early adopters, WhatsApp provides a wide number of applications in terms of online interaction while keeping issues concerning privacy, pretty much intact. Be it the ‘last seen’ feature or the blue ticks suggesting whether your message has been read or not, the latest version of this application has packed in a lot of modifications, much to the dismay of a nonchalant user.
While WhatsApp with the latest terminologies in place has become more vigilant, easier getaways in the form of WhatsApp Plus seems to be rising to the occasion. This isn’t an entirely new application but something that makes use of a similar source code in addition to some powerful tweaks. Besides better privacy features, the Plus version also comes in handy when it comes to app customization beyond the usual limits.
Firstly, WhatsApp Plus allows multiple theme changes based on colors and backgrounds. The user interface might be tweaked as per the requirements and one can push in those timely aesthetic modifications.
While we aren’t great fans of third party modifications and app clones, the Plus version is something much more alluring and utilitarian to say the least. Interface modifications based on backgrounds, chats, images, colors, icons; sending bigger files; mitigating data losses and much more; WhatsApp Plus does have its hands full!
Besides the aforesaid elements, the Plus version now allows the user to hide the last seen WhatsApp status in addition to the date. This actually helps with the privacy issue in hand, avoiding tricky scenarios concerning your social visibility.
WhatsApp has recently taken a stand against the third party inclusions by placing bans on similar resources. While this seems quite legit and more on the expected lines, the Plus version seems to be gathering more popularity now, forcing the mother app to bring in modifications based on flexibility of choice. Be it WhatsApp for Pc using Bluestacks (the android emulator) or using the same over the web client, WhatsApp is trying hard to get the sheen back.
Privacy, however, still remains a concern with the inability to hide multiple status updates and selective Last Seen option. With WhatsApp Plus allowing the same without an additional tick, we might see many users migrating to the latter, even with penalties and timely bans on the way.
