AKA Jessica Jones has added Rachael Taylor to the cast that continues to grow for the upcoming show. It will air exclusively on Netflix and follow Daredevil as the second Marvel series on the streaming service.
Rachael Taylor will join AKA Jessica Jones as Trish Walker, the best friend of the titular character. Her character is a syndicated radio talk show host, former model and child television star who’s best known to her fans as “Patsy” Walker.
In the Marvel Comics, Trish went under the superhero identity of Hellcat, and she appears in the series in order to help Jessica in the most dangerous case of her career.
Rachael Taylor will star in AKA Jessica Jones alongside Krysten Ritter, who plays the title character. The series focuses on her career as a detective in an attempt to rebuild her life following a short lived time as a superhero.
Jessica Jones is called in to deal with cases involving extraordinary people, and she operates in New York City. The upcoming Marvel series will follow Daredevil, and precede Luke Cage and Iron Fist, with all of them taking place in Hell’s Kitchen, and a plan for all four of them to later be featured in the miniseries The Defenders.
Prior to being cast in AKA Jessica Jones, Rachael Taylor appeared in films such as Transformers, Shutter, and See No Evil. She has been on the small screen before on 666 Park Avenue and Charlie’s Angels, and will also be seen in the upcoming film The Loft.
In addition to Taylor’s casting in the show, Marvel also recently announced that the former Doctor Who star David Tennant would join the show as the villain, Zebediah Killgrave. Mike Colter was previously cast as Luke Cage in the show, and will also portray the character in his own show after AKA Jessica Jones ends.
With the addition of Rachael Taylor to the cast, the anticipation continues to build for Marvel’s AKA Jessica Jones. The 13-episode series will debut sometime in 2015, with no date set yet.
