Gotham has added another villain to the mix with Milo Ventimiglia’s upcoming role on the show. The show has been a huge hit in its first season, and has already been renewed for a second season.
The freshman Fox series Gotham tells the story of Jim Gordon (Ben McKenzie), a rising detective in corrupt Gotham City, where his late father was a successful district attorney.
It is an origin story that takes place years before Batman arrives on the streets, but a young Bruce Wayne is portrayed by David Mazouz on the show. The series has brought in a handful of villains already including The Penguin and there was a recent announcement about The Joker coming in the future.
Gotham has enlisted Milo Ventimiglia for a villainous role on the show in which he will portray The Ogre. Although some DC fans may be familiar with a Ogre character already in the comics, Gotham’s Ogre will be a new character that is completely unrelated to the comics.
His character is described as handsome, wealthy, and seductive, which of course is just describing his good side. He is a serial killer that has been preying on the young women of Gotham for nearly a decade in his search for the perfect mate.
The role on Gotham allows Ventimiglia to return to the world of characters with supernatural abilities after rising to fame as Peter Petrelli in Heroes. However, since then he has also provided his voice for Ultimate Spider-Man and the 2011 Wolverine television series. He will be seen next in The Whispers, airing on ABC this spring.
His Ogre role on Gotham‘s real name is Jason Lennon, and he is scheduled to make his first appearance in the 19th episode of the first season. He will be a recurring character, and could become a major role on the show.
Gotham‘s addition of Milo Ventimiglia could get even more people interested in the show as he was a fan-favorite on Heroes as well as Gilmore Girls. Are you excited for this casting on Gotham?
