4 Last Minute Tips for Cyber Monday

4 Last Minute Tips for Cyber Monday image Cyber Monday resizedThe time has come! The official start to the holiday shopping season has arrived. Hopefully you’ve done your planning, gone through our Cyber Monday checklist and are ready to roll. You may have been preparing for this day for some time now and with the big day being only three days away, now is not the time to do any sort of major changes to your strategy or site design for the holiday shopping.

However, there is some time left to make sure everything is functional and make some minor changes. We’ve got a few last-minute tips for e-commerce companies to be sure they are prepared for the craziness to begin.

1. Check all your graphics

Every graphic you’re putting out should be ready to display the promotions you are running. They should look professionally designed (hint: no Clip Art or WordArt), themed correctly for the time of year with any and all pertinent information on it and have a direct call to action. Make sure your homepage is displaying your deals as shoppers hate having to hunt for them.

2. Check any content you’re sending out

Are you sending out emails to announce any sales you’re running? Now is the time to take one last check to make sure you do not have any broken links, images, spelling errors or anything else that can have your emails ending up in the deleted box. If you haven’t already, consider putting together some sort of special promotion for people on your social media channels. It has become a common practice for companies to provide exclusive deals to their social media communities. Make sure you show your online community of supporters a little love with something just for them.

3. Check all coupon codes

Nothing says Cyber Monday like coupons and deals. Between social media, emails, affiliates and your regular website, you probably have several codes set to be released to shoppers. Make sure every coupon code you have is thoroughly tested. Nothing will anger a customer more than getting an error message just before purchase. And nothing spreads online faster than negative publicity.

4. Run a site test

Take the time to run one more test of your website. Fix any problems that come up IMMEDIATELY. If nothing is broken, then LEAVE IT ALONE. Keep your hands off the system at this point just to ensure that nothing can happen.

These may seem like minor tips, but remember it’s the little things that help you stand out. Take the time to check everything two, three or four times and it will ensure both you and your customers have a seamless experience on Monday.
