Consumers Find More Time to Shop Online on Thanksgivukkah image Menurky 310x209Despite reports of just single-digit percentage increases in online sales during yesterday’s Thanksgiving Day holiday (which also was the first day of Hanukkah), revenue to leading ecommerce retailers actually increased close to 40%.


According to data from nearly 30 million online shopping sessions on Thanksgiving, revenue was up 38.98%, including increases from tablet shoppers (73.60%), smartphone users (50.74%), and consumers on traditional laptop and desktop computers (39.83%).


Average order value increased 11.82% and conversions were up 20.74% compared to Thanksgiving Day 2012.


Continuing a trend leading up to Thanksgiving, more traffic came from from social networks (29.96%). Email referrers are taking the biggest hit with 78.01% less traffic on Thanksgiving Day.


The most traffic (19.29%) and purchases (41.67) came after bellies were full, taking place between 6 p.m. and midnight.
