Have you ever thought about how you “Internet”? Most people, a full 93 percent in fact, begin their online activity with a search. Over 80 percent of users visit search engines regularly. Four in five completely disregard the paid results up top in favor of the natural or organic results. Most people seem to think that search result quality has been improving over time. Most people favor Internet Explorer to guide their journeys. About 17 percent favor Chrome and Firefox each.
iOS dominates the mobile market, and Google dominates the search market. No surprises there. If you’re looking for an underdog search engine that offers private searching, check out DuckDuckGo. The top five most popular search terms of 2014 so far have been “Boston Marathon”, “Mickey Rooney”, “Mimi Sex Tape”, “Fort Hood”, and “Blood Moon”. Of course, you’ll go and Google (or Bing) some of these terms. A Blood Moon is a full lunar eclipse where the sun casts rays over the moon, causing it to appear blood red. Biblical prophecies about the Blood Moon sparked interest.
