Rolling Stones perform at Telenor Arena

When Mick Jagger’s girlfriend committed suicide in March 2014, the Stones put off their world tour to help the singer cope with his grief. But on Monday May 26 the band returned with a high-energy show lasting over two hours at Oslo’s Telenor Arena in Norway. The crowd of 23,000, a sold out stadium, was more than excited to see the band at it’s best. Jagger did not mention the death of fashion designer L’Wren Scott, but instead proved himself to be actually quite capable in the Norwegian language to impress the crowed further in between his songs.

The band played hits from their decades-long catalog, including a rendition of “You Can’t Always Get What You Want” featuring Bergen’s Edvard Grieg Youth Choir. The band ended their set with a beautiful display of fireworks. The Rolling Stones have rescheduled their interrupted tour dates for later, saying they will in fact get to them as well despite the tragedy.

Their next venue will be in Lisbon, Portugal on May 29.
