Mastodon has proven that you can twerk to metal, with their new music video for ‘The Motherload’, from the album ‘Once More ‘Round the Sun”. Double bass, screeching guitar solos, and big booties are a match made in heaven. Since this is metal though, a match made in hell might be a better way to describe it.

Everyone thought twerking was at the peak of its popularity with Nicki Minaj’s ‘Anaconda’ video, but the ladies in Mastodon’s ‘ The Motherload’ have carried the twerk torch even further. Let’s just say that the twerking in this video is as relentless as it is awesome.

The whole video is a monsoon of twerking. We see some butts up close, twerking, and we some butts in the distance, twerking. We also get some booties bouncing in slow motion and real time. We get a twerk off, and then we’re presented with a climax of psychedelic, kaleidoscope, visualizer twerking.

‘The Motherload’ begins like a normal metal video, with the band being filmed while creepy people do strange things onstage. You then get a big booty surprise, when your forty three seconds into it, and from there it’s no turning back from the twerk fest.

There’s also couple of other things going on in Mastodon’s music video too. We have some pale guy carrying a bell on his back, a bearded fat guy in a diaper covered in beads, a reptile lady doing reptile things, some druids, and a big demonic puppet. All this metal imagery is secondary to the ladies twerking it though.

Who knew big butts and metal riffs would work so well together. This is hands down one of the most entertaining music videos of the year.

Mastodon’s music video for “The Motherload” may have taken twerk crown from Nicki Minaj’s ‘Anaconda’. You can watch the video below.
