How to Write a LinkedIn Profile: Does Yours Suck as Much as Mine Does?

How to Write a LinkedIn Profile: Does Yours Suck as Much as Mine Does? image HWTB LinkedInEvery few weeks I update my LinkedIn profile and wonder if it’s what potential clients will a) be attracted by and b) find helpful.

With a background like mine … as I say in the profile, I’ve written professionally for every medium there is apart from tablets of stone and that’s only because I’m useless with a hammer and chisel … it’s hard to know just how to set out my stall in a way that clients and potential clients will benefit from now.

Here’s the latest incarnation: would this ring your chimes or bore you witless?

If you need some writing help backed up by star-quality experience, combined with lively contemporary thinking to help you make words work much harder for your business, you’ve come to the right place.

As a seasoned journalist, copywriter, scriptwriter, content writer, blogger and author, I have a massive amount of expertise to make your writing projects perform well for you, whatever the medium.

In fact I think in my career so far I have written for just about every medium there is, with the exception of tablets of stone … and that’s only because I’m not very good with a hammer and chisel…

Keen to develop your blogging for business? With some serious blog writing and editing experience under my belt, I can help you take your blog from a small beginning to a site that attracts – and keeps – hundreds or even thousands of loyal readers.

After all, I’ve done it on my own blog … nothing to 1,500 visits (3,000+ reads) per day, in less than 3 years. Plus editing for a good few years on several multi-author blogs. And I share that know-how with you.

Want some 1-on-1 coaching on your blog writing? No worries. Skype or Google Hangout.

Want to do a workshop on “What To Write For Your Business Blog?” No worries if you’re in southern England or the GTA in Ontario (for now, but more are planned elsewhere soon!) Give me a shout and we’ll talk.

And let’s talk about your other writing needs, too. Like coaching you through the process of writing and/or publishing your nonfiction book. Or ghostwriting your blog posts if you don’t have time to do them yourself. Or tidying up your website text, email marketing, and much, much more.

For now though, come on over to my website, HowToWriteBetter.net, and check out over 600 articles about a wide range of writing topics, particularly focused on business and blog writing. When you’re ready to have a chat just email me via the site. (Or drop me a note here on LinkedIn, of course.)

I’m looking forward to helping you!

OK. Be honest. Does it make you smile, frown, or want to throw up? I’d be interested to know and can take criticism as long as it doesn’t involve too many 4-letter words.

What are the key criteria you use in your LinkedIn profile?

With LinkedIn profiles and general participation becoming increasingly important in today’s online environment, we really do need to take it all very seriously.

How do you put forward your LinkedIn persona? And what advice can you share with our readers here on how to make the best of this A-list online platform?

Please share!
