Kobe Bryant touched on the sensitive Trayvon Martin subject in a piece published this week by the New Yorker. In the interview Bryant was asked his opinion on the team photo Miami posed for in support of Martin last year.
Kobe Bryant Allegedly Disrespects Miami Heat Team For Trayvon Martin Support [QUOTE]

Kobe himself wasn’t jumping to conclusions before evaluating the case against accused killer George Zimmerman. He certainly wasn’t jumping behind Martin because he was black. The all time leading scorer in Los Angeles Lakers history is quoted in the New Yorker,
“I won’t react to something just because I’m supposed to, because I’m an African-American. That argument doesn’t make any sense to me. So we want to advance as a society and a culture, but, say, if something happens to an African-American we immediately come to his defense? Yet you want to talk about how far we’ve progressed as a society? Well, we’ve progressed as a society, then don’t jump to somebody’s defense just because they’re African-American. You sit and you listen to the facts just like you would in any other situation, right? So I won’t assert myself.”
Twitter users didn’t take kindly to Kobe’s remarks. Actually, they kind of freaked out.

I'm a huge @kobebryant fan, but I HIGHLY disagree with his Trayvon Martin stance. Jim Browns statement about him is ringing bells now!
