The magic word for business owners is almost always “more leads” but it’s important not to forget about traffic. Because after all, the traffic coming to your website will be the people turning into those leads you love so much. So let’s shed some light on how website content can impact traffic.
What exactly do you mean by website content?
First, let’s go over what I mean by website content. Most people think this is just your homepage, products/services pages, company info pages, and landing pages. But think about it this way… every blog posted is an indexed page. So if you have a company blog posting twice a week, think how many pages you could have indexed! Well you’re probably thinking great, I have a lot of pages… big deal, what good is an indexed page? The more pages you have indexed, the more keywords you get ranked for and the more traffic you attract to your site.
So how does this content bring in traffic to my site?
Like I mentioned before, the more pages you have the more keywords you use which means you get found for those keywords before other businesses do. Simply put, you’ll show up number one in a Google search for a particular keyword if you create enough pages around it therefore people will click through to your site more. And those people are considered website traffic.
What kind of content should I blog about?
You should blog about the things people are searching for online that are relevant to your business. For instance if you’re selling candles don’t blog about incense, you’ll bring in people looking for incense instead of candles. Industry news, company insight, service and product details, how things work, new and improved methods or products, etc. These are all great topics to write about for any business.
How often should I create this blog content?
Honestly you could pump out 100 blogs a day and I could still suggest you up your blogging amount. It’s a crazy beneficial thing to do for your business so the more blogs the better. We blog 5 times a week because we have the time and resources for it. If you only have the time and resources for once or twice a week then plan a strategy for that and stick to it. But don’t spread yourself too thin, a blogging strategy is something you don’t want to drop the ball on.
Takeaway
BLOG! NOW! DO IT!
