Tinder, the location based dating app, has a bit of a problem, making sure that those “users” are actually located anywhere in the physical world.
Today, Twitter began exploding with reports that users were being contacted by Tinder accounts that would strangely push the conversation to Castle Clash, a successful Clash of Clans clone. This has predictably led some to accuse the developer, I Got Games (IGG) of creating the bots themselves in order to promote their games.
The accounts on Tinder are obviously bots. User after user has complained about them on Twitter, and they simply use the same script for everyone, regardless of what is said back to them. So far, all the bot accounts seem to be imitating females and targeting males, but that is unconfirmed at this point.
Also unknown is who exactly is behind these spams accounts. The most obvious culprit is IGG itself, but it doesn’t necessarily have to be so. There are a ton of services out there that are more than willing to pay for installs, and it is possible that a third party advertiser paid by IGG for installs, took this initiative themselves.
Then again, IGG has remained silent on the issue, and their apps aren’t always of the highest quality, so they remain under suspicion.
For its part, Tinder told TechCrunch that it is aware of the issue and is working to solve it. However, that is much the same thing they said last time something similar happened.
Castle clash is trolling tinder? Lol http://ift.tt/1jxVL8V
