John Oliver Takes On ‘Brillent’ YouTube Comments. His Responses Are Brilliant

John Oliver recently came under attack by internet trolls after he posted a commentary on America’s nuclear weapons arsenal. The host of HBO’s Last Week Tonight With John Oliver, received both backlash and support from YouTube community members.

Instead of simply releasing another commentary to stoke the internet troll fires, Oliver decided to talk a bit about the “Brillent” YouTube comments he encountered.

In his newest viral YouTube video John Oliver addresses several of his favorite comments. Those comments include “John Oliver’s face does look like a parrot” and “this guy is BRILLENT.”

In all fairness, John Oliver calls himself some sort of “piano playing cat,” so it really is hard to hurt his feelings with silly words.

The best part of the video? When John Oliver tries to explain a comment that includes an attack against cherry soda, while using the words “you dun goofed.”

John Oliver even translates some hurtful, yet silly, comments from Spanish to English. The translation is horrible, but then again so was the attack comment issued against him.

For the record, the “Brillent” comment got a good laugh from Oliver who admits that he is “Brillent” but not “Brilliant.”
