A Coca Cola ad ran during the Super Bowl in 2014, featuring many people singing “America The Beautiful” — the the spot’s content did not strike a chord with all Americans.
Over on Twitter, Coca Cola’s rendition of “America The Beautiful” has drawn some sharp critique, mainly from people who found the inclusive content of the spot to be in some way offensive.
As the biggest night in advertising is sliced and diced much like the football it interrupted, Coke got the Fox News end of the stick with Twitter’s jingoist caucus — as evidenced in some of the reaction:
That coke commercial with America The Beautiful would’ve been a lot more beautiful if it had only been sung in English.
