Actor Seth Rogen’s funny-yet-poignant testimony at the U.S. Senate hearing on Alzheimer’s disease Thursday is getting tons of plaudits online, but some senators in the room apparently weren’t very taken.
Though the hearing went pretty much how you’d expect when you drop a comedian whose career has been built on dick jokes and smokin’ the ganj into a room full of senators, the 31-year-old made a moving plea for Alzheimer’s research that caught the attention of the media, and captured the hearts of social media users on Twitter and reddit.
The C-SPAN video of Rogen’s speech has been viewed over three million times on YouTube.
But despite the warm reception Rogen seemed to have received in the clip, many senators apparently walked out before he even sat down. This led to the Knocked Up star personally calling a handful of them out on Twitter for their disrespect.
Not sure why only two senators were at the hearing. Very symbolic of how the Government views Alzheimer's. Seems to be a low priority.

.@SenatorKirk pleasure meeting you. Why did you leave before my speech? Just curious.

All those empty seats are senators who are not prioritizing Alzheimer's. Unless more noise is made, it won't change. http://ift.tt/1exwdmc

That last photo paints a much different picture of the room than the video C-SPAN captured. No wonder Rogen was a little pissed.
