Creating content that makes a difference is not an easy task. It is something that you need to work at everyday. For me, I separate the two with respect to which brand I want to focus on.
Company Brand
Every once in awhile I like to try some things on Twitter and see what type of impact I receive. Last week, I wrote a short company article and I was amazed at the response. People were calling our office, starting to follow our company brand on Twitter and GooglePlus. It was a very simple post about a topic that I have written about on several occasions. Then it hit me, people are looking for places to go to with respect to specific topics. In addition, they want to see if there is more information on a particular topic. If that topic is a niche topic, then you will see results in a number of places: Google Search and Social Media Sites.
Personal Brand
I have also gone back to Twitter and started spending more time with my personal brand. Not only do I send links to this blog site. I am starting to open up more and search out good topics to talk about that actually have a bit of meaning or have some humor like the following tweet.

People need to understand more about who you are and if you are real or not. Right now, too many people are using a facade. People are tweeting on behalf of another individual. How real is this? Would you really want someone else representing your thoughts and views. Each person should have their own unique voice.
Some Items to Think About
Today’s marketing is requiring all of to look at things a bit differently.
- You need a strong voice online
- Your company needs to recognized and talked about by others
- Social Media is still a platform that people are coming to accept more and more (Look at the growth on TV) We are not even close to seeing a ton of results yet.
- You need to become a better writer if you are going to build a following
- You need to write differently than others
If you want marketing that resonates, you need to be different than the rest of your peers and you need to make sure you connect on two levels: company brand and personal brand.
