Houston, Texas’s largest city, and fourth largest in the United States is a cultural hub for people from various ethnic backgrounds today. Who knew that in a short span of time, the biracial city will convert into a multi-ethnic city? But the bayou city is a city of dream for many youngsters today. Houston’s foundation was laid in 1836 on the banks of Buffalo Bayou. In the beginning of twentieth century, its majority of population consisted African Americans. But today it’s Hispanic and Mexican population is among the highest in the United States. One also has places like “Asia Town” and Mahatma Gandhi District (popularly known as Hillcroft) mapping the cultural landscape of the city.

Apart from the cultural landscape of the city, it is one of the top choices in the United States for relocation. This has made the city the highest employer among metropolitan states in the country.

There are many multinational companies which are moving their base to Houston from different cities in the country. Even job portals like Monster.com awarded Houston as the best career growth city in 2013. Just moving into the year 2014, companies like Exxon Mobile consolidated its operations to The Woodlands. The move is estimated to bring about 10,000 jobs to the city.

It’s not just the jobs that are attracting people to the city, but also its amenities. If you always wanted to live a beautiful, you got to see houses at Houston. It also maps itself pretty well in the sports scene with football and golf as its favorite choices. The average age of a Houston resident is 32, making it a young city from the rest. The food is excellent with places like ‘Underbelly’, famous for its local ingredients and pleasing staff.
