Amanda Bynes’ Parents Get Another Conservatorship

Amanda Bynes’ parents have just secured another conservatorship over her affairs, TMZ reports. The troubled actress was manipulated into going to Los Angeles to “sue her parents”, but when she arrived, she was hospitalized on a 5150 psychiatric hold. After talking to herself in public in New York City and trying to shoplift on a couple of occasions, it seems that hospitalization and a conservatorship were the correct method of action.

Reportedly, Bynes was purchasing jewelry for strangers while in the Big Apple and her parents want to make sure she doesn’t blow through her cash on people she doesn’t know when she emerges from treatment. TMZ reports:

Amanda’s folks filed legal docs — obtained by TMZ — in which they say Amanda is a “substantial risk” to herself and others. They cite her erratic behavior, including her DUI arrest last month, her shoplifting and her bizarre and sometimes violent conduct in NYC.

The documents also reveal Amanda is blowing through a shocking amount of her savings. Her parents say her net worth is currently $5,747,703.36. Of that, $2.8 mil is real property — homes. Her parents say Amanda’s only income is from her rental property — $144,768 last year.

Amanda’s parents say the gift purchases have been “extensive.” It sounds like she’s going into stores, buying stuff and just handing it out on the street.

Amanda Bynes is currently under psychiatric care and her parents’ conservatorship will take a back seat to her commitment at the hospital. On Monday, Bynes’ doctors went through the courts to get a 30-day extension on her hospitalization because she wasn’t anywhere nearly ready enough to be back out in the world.

Given her feelings on her parents, we doubt that she will be reaching out to them for help anytime soon, either. Let’s just hope that she stays on her psychiatric medications and all is well, but we’re guessing that her parents may need to take the Jamie Spears route and get an extended conservatorship so that Bynes doesn’t pose a danger to herself or anyone else.
