Aussies boo at the funeral of former Labor Prime Minister Gough Whitlam. The sounds that shouldn’t be present at a funeral consisted of boos, howls, clapping, cheers, and chants.
None of the boos have been directed at the man who has passed away, but instead the guests that show up as VIP’s to the memorial. What is supposed to be a time to pay respects to someone who is now gone turns into something that resembles a sports event. It is full of jeers and heckling for the rival team, the people the Aussies don’t appreciate, and some standing ovations for the home team, the people they admire.
The former Labor Prime Minister, Kevin Rudd, has received a great reaction from the crowd gathered at Whitlam’s funeral at Sydney’s Town Hall. They also treat former Labor leaders Bob Hawke and Paul Keating pretty well too. Expelled Labor Prime Minister Julia Gillard may have gotten the best reaction from the crowd at the funeral.

The biggest boos and jeers have been held for a certain individual, the current Prime Minister Tony Abbott. He has been booed outside City Hall and inside at the funeral, making it evident that the people dislike him.
The behavior of the Australian people present at the funeral is incredibly odd. Former Labor Prime Minister Gough Whitlam may be rolling in his grave after the way Aussies have acted during his night of honor.
