The beginning of the week was a big day for British-American film director, Christopher Jonathan James Nolan’s Indian fans and Mood Indigo – the cultural festival organized by IIT Mumbai. On Monday the 27th of October, 2014, IIT Bombay declared that the director is going to visit India this December to address the annual cultural festival.

But now it has been confirmed by the organizers that Nolan isn’t coming to India and all the communication by Mood Indigo along with the Twitter contest to get trended on social media were incorrect. Posting on its Facebook last night, Mood Indigo had to say this:

Interestingly it was the same official handle that created a social media roar on Facebook and Twitter with the announcement. #NolanInIndia was trending all day and the news became an official source for a lot of publication sites including us. (20 Funny Tweets On #NolanInIndia)

Hollywood Reporter had also reported on Nolan’s visit, it was the first one to break the truth behind the false hype created by Mood Indigo organizers. It had reported that a representative of Nolan said the director is unaware of the event and has no plans to attend.

One wonders how can a popular cultural festival be so irresponsible of spreading lies on its Facebook page which has more than 220K likes; Twitter account of the festival has gone silent after the episode. But fans are angry and the below visuals might give a hint of the bad publicity its drawing this year.
