Joran Van Der Sloot Stabbed By Inmates

Convicted murderer Joran Van Der Sloot has been savagely stabbed by inmates at the Peruvian prison where he is being held.

The 27-year old Dutchman was stabbed in the guy numerous times by a prison shank in the Challapalca prison in north Peru. The prison is well known for being a dangerous and unseemly prison in the country.

Van Der Sloot’s wife, Leidy Figueroa, who married the killer when he was behind bars, told MailOnline that Van Der Sloot was almost killed in the attack and that he has lost a great deal of blood. She added “his fellow inmates believed that killing such a high-profile prisoner would lead to their notoriously tough jail being closed.”

Figueroa, who also has a child with Van Der Sloot, showed a blood-soaked shirt that was used to cover his wounds after the attack, saying “he’s losing a lot of blood but isn’t receiving any medical attention. He’s been very poorly [taken care of], I have been trying to get the guards to take him to hospital. The prison service is trying to cover this up, please please help.”

Apparently, Joran Van Der Sloot has been targeted in previous attacks, having been stabbed in the shoulder back on October 27. The inmates seem to be targeting Van Der Sloot in an attempt to have the prison shut down.

The attacks came on the heels of Van Der Sloot writing a letter claiming the authorities at the prison had “violated every one” of his human right, that there is no water or electricity, and that prisoners are cut off from communication with their families.

Joran Van Der Sloot is serving a 28-year sentence for the death of a Peruvian student back in 2010. He also remains the prime suspect in the disappearance of Natalee Holloway, an Alabama high school student who vanished in Aruba in 2005.
