Katherine Heigl has been called “rude” on more than one occasion since she rose to fame playing Izzie Stevens on “Grey’s Anatomy”. When she became a household name as a result of her time at the fictional Seattle Grace Hospital, Heigl pulled her name out of the consideration for an Emmy. She called the content that was written for her unworthy of Emmy consideration and has been considered a pariah in the world of television ever since.
Heigl is obviously trying to ingratiate herself to her growing fan base for her new show “State Of Affairs”. In a Facebook fan chat, one reader asked the star if she was actually difficult to work with as previously rumored. The fan asked, “I’ve heard rumors that your [sic] very rude. What’s your thoughts?”
Katherine Heigl responded directly on Facebook, saying that she, too, has heard the rumors and speculation and wanted to clarify the reports of her diva-like attitude. She said on the social networking service:
Yeah I’ve heard those too…honestly I don’t think I am…nothing makes me more uncomfortable than confrontation or hurting someones feelings and I would never, ever actively do so on purpose. Of course just like any human being I’ve made mistakes and unwittingly or carelessly spoken or acted but I always try to make any wrong right. That doesn’t mean I won’t stand up for myself by drawing boundaries and asking to be treated kindly and respectfully but I don’t do that with any rude or unkind intentions just with the same strength and honesty I think every one of us is entitled to.
Fans responded that they were glad that Heigl had clarified herself and said that they’ve enjoyed her work. Is anyone surprised that she is trying to cultivate a better reputation for herself so that people will watch her new show?
