Christine Cavanaugh, a beloved voice actress known for many cartoons and a few small parts on screen, has passed away. She will remembered most by those who adored her 90’s television shows.
She died on December 22nd at the age of 51, and the cause of her death is still unknown. She was at home in Los Angeles, California at the time.
Some of Cavanaugh’s most notable voiced characters include Babe the pig from the film Babe, released in 1995, and several cartoon voices including Chuckie Finster on Rugrats, Goslin on Darkwing Duck, and Dexter on Dexter’s Laboratory.
Christine Cavanaugh was born in raised in Utah before moving to Hawaii to attend college at the University of Hawaii. She met her husband while in college before moving to California in order to pursue her acting career. They married in 1985, but later divorced in 1988.
In addition to her voice work, she had some small parts in film and television such as a guest starring role in shows such as Cheers, The X-Files, and Everybody Loves Raymond, as well as a small part in the romantic comedy film Jerry Maguire.

Her career began in 1988 with a role in the movie David and Magic Pearl, and she soon landed her first major role in Darkwing Duck in 1991, which lasted for 73 episodes.
Her last roles were in Dexter’s Laboratory and Rugrats, when her character of Chuckie was eventually replaced by Nancy Cartwright, famous for voicing Bart Simpson on The Simpsons.
Christine Cavanaugh retired from acting in 2001 in order to be closer to her family, and had been out of the spotlight for a while before her death. She leaves behind several family members including her father, her sister, her brother, and many nieces and nephews.
