Slash is divorcing his wife Perla following thirteen years of marriage and two children together. Perla left the guitarist, taking their children London and Cash to Hawaii and issued an ultimatum to the rocker. She gave him until the end of 2014 to get things right within their marriage or she would file for divorce.
Slash’s divorce filing comes as no surprise following his wife’s unexpected trip to Hawaii with their kids. She threatened him with divorce should they not work their problems out before the beginning of the new year. According to a report from TMZ , the former couple have had their share of arguments, but a source noted that “this time it’s different.”
Perla Hudson has reportedly told her close friends that she and Slash have separated, she has yet to file any official documents stating this.
Slash filed for divorce from Perla in 2010, after their relationship hit a rough patch. Unfortunately for the rocker, his wife runs all of his companies – so this could end up getting messy. After filing the documents citing irreconcilable differences, Slash and his wife reconciled just two months later.
Slash has been clean and sober since 2005, crediting his wife Perla for her help with regard to his health issues. The guitarist suffers from a cardiomyopathy and was told that he didn’t have that long to live – in 2001. Slash’s marriage to Perla is his second, as he was married to model/actress Renee Suran from 1992 to 1997.
Following Slash’s divorce filing, we have learned that the former Guns N’ Roses rocker has made it clear that he is seeking joint custody of the couple’s two sons, who are ten and twelve. Hopefully these two will see fit to reconcile their differences primarily for the sake of their children. Despite that, they aren’t the only couple to file for divorce before the New Year – and aren’t likely to be the last.
