The first photo for the Millennium Falcon has been released and is gracing the cover of Fortune Magazine. For its latest edition, the business magazine features Walt Disney CEO Bob Iger. However, it’s what appears in the background that has social media buzzing. Behind Iger is a close-up image of the revamped Millennium Falcon.
For those not acquainted with the Star Wars saga, the Millennium Falcon is the spacecraft of all spacecrafts. It made its debut in the first Star Wars film back in 1977 and was manned by Han Solo and his hairy bipedal buddy Chewbacca.

It has been announced that the highly anticipated episode VII will feature an updated Falcon. It’s only fitting that Iger appears with the Falcon given that Disney purchased George Lucas’ Lucasfilm back in 2012 for a hefty $4 billion.
The two photos were produced by Yannick Dusseault, who is the art director of visual effects for The Force Awakens. The image was created using a combination of CGI, photoshopping, and a skeletal replica of the Millennium Falcon. The final photo is an image that has fans gossiping on social media over what the final version will look like on the big screen.
The Millennium falcon has always been one of the most recognized Star Wars icon. That along with other memorable spacecrafts like the Death Star and X-Wing has been released in various action figure forms. Visit your local Toys R’ Us or Amazon and you’ll find Millennium Falcon Lego sets, model kits, keychains, and playsets. There are even Millennium Falcon-shaped video game controllers and kitchen cutting boards.
The release of the first Millennium Falcon photo is just the latest of releases that whets the appetite of the diehard fan. It keeps the anticipation at its peak so that the hype will not be for naught when the film is finally released next December.
