Paul Rudd is ready to return for the final season of Parks and Recreation. As any fan of the show knows, the upcoming season will be the last, and the cast and crew have already been getting emotional about it.

Despite being one of the biggest stars in Hollywood right now, he actually got his start on television with a recurring role on another NBC comedy, Friends.

On Parks and Recreation, he plays Bobby Newport an heir to the Sweetums company, someone who is constantly rivaling with the series lead, Leslie Knope (Amy Poehler). He was last seen on the show in season four when he ran against Knope for city council.

In addition to Paul Rudd’s return to Parks and Recreation, other notable actors who have appeared in the show will also be back including Rob Lowe, Rashida Jones, Jon Hamm, Megan Mullaly, and Natalie Morales.

The show has been on for 6 seasons so far, and is ready to begin its 7th season in January. It has remained a fan favorite for years, although never quite caught on with the critics to receive much praise from the awards shows.

Speaking on getting Rudd back for the show, executive producer Michael Schur said “He’s the world’s nicest human being—and the funniest. We made a list of all the people that we wanted to have back and he was high on the list, so we managed to snag him.”

Paul Rudd was able to squeeze in his filming for Parks and Recreation while working on his upcoming superhero film Ant-Man, produced by Marvel Studios.

With Paul Rudd back on Parks and Recreation, Pawnee, Indiana will be seeing several familiar faces over the course of the show’s final season. Fans will get to see him in two episodes of the season, and will likely get emotional with all of the returning characters. The season premiere will be on January 13th.
