Obama Wears Tiara While Posing With Girl Scouts

White House photographer, Pete Souza, shared an adorable photo earlier this week that showcases President Obama getting in touch with his sparkly side. Souza explained that the pink tiara that can be seen sitting proudly atop the President’s head was actually the doing of members of Girl Scout Troop 2612 of Tulsa, Oklahoma. The magic moment occurred earlier this year at the Annual White House Science Fair, where the girls where exhibiting a leak-proof Lego bridge.

While the Science Fair focused on girls and women in the fields of Science, Technology, Math, and Engineering, it appears the event also gave the girls another valuable asset to add to their resumes. Not only did their fashion sense bring out Obama’s eyes brilliantly, the photo quite possibly proves them the only lobbyists in the world capable of charming the President of the United States into rocking a tiara. Obama, who is no fan of headgear, once even turned down the Navy Football Team’s invitation to try on a custom made helmet. As he once explained, “You don’t put stuff on your head if you’re president. That’s politics 101. You never look good wearing something on your head.”

The President, who raised a few feminist eyebrows in 2008 when he referred to a female reporter by the term “sweetie,” seems to have nurtured a growing respect for women in his 2 terms in office. Recently he scored a few points with the ladies of the United States when he called exclusively on female reporters at his last press conference of 2014. He also made a subtle yet heartwarming gesture at a recent charity toy drive when he ignored gender guidelines, making sure to include sporting equipment in a box set aside for girls.

As the girls of Troop 2612 demonstrate, with enough passion and persistence, you never know what you can achieve. Today a tiara, tomorrow, who knows?
