Louisville Cardinals’ Chris Jones blatantly flopped during a Dec. 27 game with Kentucky. While trying to grab the ball from Wildcats’ Dakari Johnson, Jones instantly fell to his back and gripped his jaw in pain. However, even without a slow motion replay, it was clear Johnson never made contact with Jones’ face. Social media is now abuzz about the flop, many claiming it to be the flop of all flops.
It goes without saying that Chris Jones’ flop has made him the butt of social media jokes. Some are calling his act “Oscar-worthy,” and others have simply called it “embarrassing.” The playback clearly shows that there was ample space between Johnson’s arms and Jones’ jaw.

Despite the blatant flop, the referee still ruled it a foul against Johnson. It didn’t matter in the end, though, as Kentucky came away with the victory, beating the Cardinals 58-50.
In other noteworthy news about the game, Hunger Games star Jennifer Lawrence was also in attendance in support of Louisville. It would be interesting to hear what she has to say about the flopping incident.

Of course, flopping is a rampant problem in both the college circuit and in the NBA. Players feign injury in order to get a foul called against the opposing team. It’s been around for as long as the sport has existed. The problem has become such an endemic that the NBA started imposing a flopping fine of $5,000 for a single offense.
Even though flopping is considered unsportsmanlike, many fans actually enjoy seeing a flop take place simply for its humorous value.
Here is a video compilation of some of the sport’s funniest and most blatant flops that are apparent even when viewed from afar and in real time.
